System requirements
- Java Runtime Environment Version 8r
- PC: Windows 7 - Windows 11
- Mac OS X Version 10.6 or higher
The software Audionet RCP is written in Java. Therefore it requires the "Java Runtime Environment" (JRE), download the latest version free of charges from http://www.java.com.
Installation
To install Audionet RCP please unpack "Audionet-RCP.zip" at the desired location of your Computer. Once you have unpacked the file you don’t need further installation routines – just start the program by opening the file "Audionet-RCP.exe" that is located in the directory "Audionet-RCP".
Note
Although it is possible to start RCP by double-clicking the file "Audionet-RCP.jar", we strongly recommend that you only use the ".exe" or ".app" file as described above in order to ensure a correct execution of RCP.
Debug Modus
The debug mode is only needed if you get a lot of crashes or other serious problems with the RCP. A program start with debug mode enabled (Settings-> Advanced-> debug mode) creates a subfolder in the RPC installation path. Each time you start the RCP in debug mode a log file will be created.
Tips and Hints
Network
- Use the command "Rescan Network" to search for UPnP Devices again.
- If no UPnP Devices can be found check your WLAN connections.
If "Rescan Network" is executed several times and still no UPnP Devices are found or the message "Unable to Browse" pops up very often, you may try to change the internet protocol. In "Settings" you can choose between IPv4, IPv6 and IPv4 or IPv6.
Streaming
The RCP is not yet able to work as an UPnP-Server. Thus the app can not distribute music files located on your computer to your network.
